Velvet Bootleg Trousers

Deep purple velvet bootleg trousers with a whisper-thin waistband. Mid-rise, slightly flared from the knee. Brand: TopShop circa 2000. The purple is rich and the velvet hasn’t pilled. Stunning with platform boots.

The bootleg cut was TopShop’s signature silhouette in 1999–2001 before low rise took over. These have never been washed — the colour is at maximum intensity. The velvet has a short, dense pile that catches light dramatically.
